What to buy for him?

Hubby birthday is here soon and I still do not have a solid plan for his celebration. I’ve not confirm a venue, not yet order his birthday cake and have not shop for his birthday present yet. Maybe I should make it a small celebration, just the three of us only and as for his birthday gift I should get him a chippewa boots because he never have a boots before. 
What do you think?
How about cake, any idea for me?
