Canon 350D Camera

We wanted to buy a new camera. So last Sunday, we browse through a few camera shops, trying to find the most suitable camera for us. Not too expensive and with good shutter speed.
Then we found Canon 350D…
- 8 megapixel
- DIGIC II image processor
- Instant power-on time, faster shutter release, shorter blackout time
- Small body
- Lighter weight
- Matte plastic finish, standard body color to be black, sliver will also be available
- Small and light NB-2LH battery
- Flash pop-up
- RM2050.00 (payment with cash, if credit card RM2199.00)
But one thing that William doesn’t like it is if want to snap photo we must look at the view finder, there is no live picture on the LCD screen. LCD screen is for viewing only. Mmm…so not able to decide yet, still searching n browsing for our new camera.
According to a few friends, last time this camera cost about RM3600.00, whoa!
Well, we are hoping to get our new Canon camera soon, you have any suggestion?
if you would like to know..i think there’s none beginner level DSLR that have live picture view on the LCD screen..
If you can afford to buy 350D..You might just go for 400D..or you can try out the new Sony A200, which is almost on par with Nikon D80, but with lower price..
If your initial plan is to buy 350D so I guess your budget is around there..So you can try out Canon EOS 400D, Sony A200, and Nikon D80 (3k++) as well..Or you might just look for 2nd-hand Nikon D70s or D50..

the only 1s with live viewfinder is the olympus 1s..DSLR normally dont have live view finder 1 lar..if not then whats the diff with a digicam?
350d is one of the most basic around..unless u go up 1 up to 400d..
I see..actually I like this 350D but hubby prefer with live view finder…
i think it is ok to get an Olympus DSLR latest model which equippied with a live view viewfinder.. which currently not so many DLSR models has it.. as i know, there only 2 brands that already put liveview in their DSLR, one is Olympus and another 1 is Panasonic Lumix. If you want the entry level DLSR, Olympus e410 if i’m not mistaken, is a great model to be consider.. well its all up 2 u then.. i still dun have enough money to get a DSLR then, still using prosumer/semi-pro camera..

still can get 350D from the market? some shops already didn’t have it last year. BTW, i heard 450D is coming out soon.
my personal advice, if u like very very colourful image, u should go for nikon instead.

Wait awhile more as the 450D was just launched in the USA and for an entry level dSLR, it comes with LIVE VIEW! Quite worth it but not sure when it’ll be launched in Malaysia

I know of a place that gives very attractive discount for a brand new Canon 350D. Thop shop also sells 2nd hand units also. I saw 1 used unit selling around RM1250. Yhe condition of the camera is very good. If you are interested to know more. Just let me know, I’ll give you the details.
